my family and i are coming to daytona the week of july 4 .i want to fish the peer .im an experienced fresh water fisherman,not so much salt water .what time of day? or night ? bait, gear, technique,etc?thanks for the help.

most people use enough weight to get the bait to the bottom, live shrimp or live pinfish or mullet etc probably best,but dead/cut bait will work. morning and evening for times.

watch out for all those pesky surfers...

hey larry did ya catch any fish at the pier over the weekend? I was able to reel in some whiting down in bethune beach, new smyrna. I was using sand flees for bait around high tide.

well ,i got to fish the pier one day .i did catch 1 fish not sure what it was it was small kinda looks like a pin fish but wasn't had a spot on its back? i did do some surf fishing one eve. got several good hits but no luck .but like i say a bad day fishin' is better than a great day workin' .had a good time in daytona very friendly folks. sad to see all the closed store fronts we live about 30 min.from Gatlinburg TN so i know when your business depends on tourists it ether fest or famine. we will come back soon .i hope

I will be coming down to Daytona in last of September, how is the fishing and the golf during these times? What golf course is close to N Atlantic Av?
